               Vickie Bonewitz describes her career in her own words... 20 years of culinary experience began in 1982 with a 5 year apprenticeship under Swiss Executive Chef George Wiedemann at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Austin TX. It continued to Hamburg Germany under Master Chef Erich Hausler  at the Hotel St. Raphael.







 

Back in the U.S. I honed my skills in various restaurants and hotels. In the last 10 years I've held the positions as Conference Chef at the Barton Creek Conference Resort in Austin , Executive Chef at the Fredericksburg Brewing Company and Executive Chef at The Omni Hotel Downtown Austin before deciding to begin my own business in Fredericksburg . Where my kitchen is located at The Full Moon Inn ½ mile from Luckenbach TX.

My birthplace is York, PA. I moved to Austin in 1982. My husband Darrel is the pastry chef for My Own Chef and has worked in some of the best hotels and country clubs under great pastry chefs. In the last ten years he has worked for The Stouffer hotel, Central Market and Barton Creek country Club and presently is the Chef for the Paige House here in Fredericksburg.

We have 4 cats which are extremely spoiled.
